These beautiful, detailed laser-cut shoe boxes are used for the 'Wet Blue Hearts' at SLEM, Waalwijk, The Netherlands.

SLEM is an international innovation and education institute for footwear.
They offer a master, summer and short courses; consult for companies and organize SLEMinars on innovative topics.

Installation 'Wet Blue Hearts' was part of the event 'KunstKwartier: Voor het Voetlicht'

"Eight hearts in shoe boxes depict the continuous connection of Waalwijk with the leather and footwear industry.
The eight shoe boxes  show symbols from this industry.

Sometimes the hearts beat louder, sometimes slowly, but always beats the 'leather and shoe heart' in Waalwijk. "

The shoe boxes are laser cut by Point to Paper as sponsor of the event.

The ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING DESIGN is made by  Studio Arjen van der Cruijsen
